The Athirappilly Tribal Valley Agricultural Project is promoted by the Department of Agriculture Development and Farmers’ Welfare, Govt of Kerala. The Project aims to preserve the traditional agricultural practices and conserve local varieties in the region through hand-holding the communities and enhancing their livelihood opportunities by connecting their produce - both wild and cultivated - to the end customer. All produce under Brand Athirappilly is sourced from tribal farmers with small land holdings in the Sholayar, Vazhachal and Athirappilly forests. Brand ATHIRAPPILLY offers a fair price to produce harvested or grown by forest-dwelling people. This produce is unrivaled in comparison to high-yielding varieties or mainstream organic varieties. We are delighted to share with you the range of signature products from the core of Athirappilly’s rainforests – forest honey, black dammer (dhoop), shikakai, coffee, turmeric, cardamom, pepper, ginger, wild arrowroot, nutmeg, cocoa, etc.
